[NEWS] Phacilitate postpones in-person Advanced Therapies Week to January of 2022

Phacilitate's Advanced Therapies Week to take place 18th - 21st January 2022
16 March, 2021, LONDON  |   Phacilitate’s next Advanced Therapies Week (previously Phacilitate Leaders World) in Miami will now be held in January of 2022 due to CoVID-19 considerations and safety measures.

Before finalising plans for the next Advanced Therapies Week in Miami, FL, Phacilitate gathered feedback from the advanced therapies community. While it was continually reiterated that we all long for face-to-face connection, the overwhelming response was that traveling en-masse this summer was not a responsible public health decision.

To that end, Phacilitate has made the decision to postpone Advanced Therapies Week until next January. To quote Kim Barnes, Phacilitate’s Event Director, “…nonetheless, we will continue to provide the advanced therapies community with robust virtual opportunities for connection.”
Michael Adeniya, Phacilitate’s Portfolio Director & Acting Editor, agreed. “As we say at Phacilitate, we believe in the power of partnerships. Even though those relationships will have to remain virtual for a while longer, we’re heartened by all we have achieved together over the past year and energised by our forthcoming projects.”

Some of Phacilitate’s upcoming virtual programs are:
  • Women in Advanced Therapies, a mentorship program designed to build the foundations for a community to help recruit, retain, develop and promote women.
  • A (yet unnamed) program created to support people of colour in our field with mentorship and networking opportunities.
  • Season two of the popular podcast Phacilitate Talks, a socially distanced and inspirational chat show that asks future thinking questions of advanced therapies experts.
  • Phacilitate Automation Working Groups, in partnership with the Standards Coordinating Body (SCB), a community uniting decision makers and implementers into five working groups to propose recommendations for automating cell and gene therapy manufacturing throughout the year.
  • The third edition of Advanced Therapies Connect in September, ensuring that all members will have the chance to forge new connections as the industry continues to move forward.
